Stay Healthy with Daily Movement

Heran Zhang grade 9

As a ninth-grade student, I am always busy with my studies. We have to sit in the classroom for long hours every day, doing homework and preparing for exams. Most of us hardly move our bodies during school time, which is not good for our health. I find that small daily movements can help us stay healthy easily, and it is very important for us students.

Many of my classmates think we have no time to do exercise because of heavy schoolwork. But we don’t need to spend hours doing sports. Simple movements in our daily life are enough. During the ten-minute break between classes, I never sit in my seat all the time. I stand up, walk around the classroom, stretch my arms and legs, or look out of the window. This short break makes my body relax and stops me from feeling tired in the next class.

After school, I usually walk home for twenty minutes instead of taking the bus. Walking is a great and easy way to exercise. It makes my legs stronger and helps me clear my mind after a long day of study. On weekends, I don’t stay at home to play with my phone all day. I sometimes dance to my favorite songs in my room, or help my mom do some housework like cleaning the floor and tidying my desk. These activities are not tiring, but they can keep my body active.

Sitting for too long is bad for our health. It can make our backs hurt and our heads feel dizzy. It also makes us less focused in class. When we move our bodies often, we feel more energetic and can study better. Good health helps us face the stress of ninth grade more easily.

We don’t need difficult sports to keep healthy. All we need is to move more in our daily life. Take short breaks, walk more, and do small activities every day. These little things can bring us big health benefits. As busy ninth-grade students, we must remember to keep moving, because a healthy body is the key to good study and happy life.
