We’ve all been lectured about saving water. Most of what we hear would be “cut down your shower time! Turn off the faucet!” or “buy our expensive water-saving product! Stop watering your lawn!” Is it really necessary to pay big bucks to “feel good” about saving water? Should we actually rush our showers?
It’s important to stay clean and save money. No one wants to cut down their relaxation time in the shower, nor do they care about sacrificing their basic right to “feel good” about helping the environment. You should never have to give up these rights, nor should you ever cut back on the water you drink. Letting your backyard die is also a pathetic way to save water. So if we don’t want to give up these things, then there must be substitutes. Luckily, there are some very easy ones.
Did you know that if you eat just six fewer burgers a year, it’s equivalent to not showering for a FULL year? You don’t need to dine on meat everyday, and it’s good to maybe skip a little more because it takes 1,799 gallons of water to produce just one pound of beef. It takes 576 gallons of water to produce a pound of pork, and 468 gallons to produce one pound of chicken. Meat is delicious, but if you can resist eating it sometimes, you can make up for your beautiful yard. And for you chocolate lovers, a little chocolate is good for you, but there’s no need to eat it all the time. One pound of chocolate takes 3,170 gallons of water to produce!
Cutting down on these foods will help improve your health as well as helping you save the planet. You don’t need to give up your rights or flush out your money to buy a special showerhead. You don’t have to give up your relaxing showers. By eating less burgers and chocolate, you can promote environmental awareness. Go you!
