From September 8 to 23, countries from around the world participated in the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Cup hosted in Japan. It also served as a chance for countries to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. USA and Italy, who took first and second place in the World Cup respectively, secured a spot in the upcoming Olympics.
This was the United States’ second title. They performed well, winning ten games and losing only one. Three players from the USA team won individual awards as well. Matt Anderson was named MVP, Micah Christenson named best setter, and Erik Shoji named best libero.
Congratulations to the USA team for earning first place and qualifying for the Olympics!
