I’m sure everyone has heard of of the new iPhone 7 with its missing headphone jack. This means you can’t plug in your headphones to listen to music while you charge your iphone. But hey, Apple has got you covered. They’ve got these new bluetooth “AirPods” that don’t need no wires that connect to your iPhone!
THEY ARE BAD.
It seems like an upgrade from wires that always seemed to get stuck on everything, but having no wire at all is actually a bad thing. Having a wire between your earbuds is actually a very useful feature. They prevent you from losing one bud because they are connected, and it makes it easy to fish earbuds out of a bag or your pocket. They also allow you to hang them around your neck when you’re not using them, so you don’t really have to set them down. However, if you use separate, wireless earbuds, you have to deal with trying not to lose them every time you take them out of your ears. If you take off your earbuds to talk to someone or do something else, you either have to keep them in your hand the entire time, or keep the case on you every minute of your life.
Their small size is also a big downside. They are extremely easy to lose, and conveniently fit under refrigerators, sewer grates, and other unfortunately unreachable cracks. They also pose a choking hazard to children and pets. Finally, they cost a whopping 160 freaking dollars!
