Summer is here, and it’s the perfect time for people to travel around. If you consider going somewhere tropical, but don’t want to get wet, you may wish to consider going to the beach for fishing. Fishing can help you relax and can also bring you delicious, fresh seafood at a low price.
Below I have listed some general precautions before you go fishing.
There are a lot of regulations on fishing in the United States. There are very strict and detailed regulations on the fishing tackle, seafood varieties and sizes that are allowed to be taken, and we must follow these regulations when we are fishing.
General rules for fishing:
According to the California Fish Hunting Law, any person over the age of 16 years as long engaging in non-commercial fishing needs to buy a California fishing license. These licenses can be purchased at California’s fishing tackle stores, large department stores or online. Some seafood in addition to the license also need report cards and additional labels. More details need to be consulted online, so please refer to the following link: www.wildlife.ca.org.
Locations:
The San Francisco Bay Area is home to dozens of maritime fishing piers. Here are some of the most popular fishing locations:
- Fishing can be done at various public terminals such as the Pacifica Municipal Pier, Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 7, and the Berkeley Marina. In addition to these bay terminals there are also many freshwater rivers and lakes near the Bay Area for fishing.
- Crabbing can be done at Baker Beach, Pacifica Municipal Pier, Bodega Bay, Half Moon Bay, and Santa Cruz Wharf. If you go crabbing, you can use a crab ring or a snare attached to a fishing pole. Generally, the snare method is more effective because it can be thrown far into the water.
Catching Abalone: California’s abalone is said to be the world’s largest, but catching abalone is dangerous, and it is best to go with experienced people. Although catching abalone is very difficult, the delicious abalone is definitely worth the effort. Some good places to catch abalone at are Glass Beach, Stillwater Cove Regional Park, and Salt Point State Park. - Clams: The Bay Area is rich in numerous clams, such as: Geoduck, Gaper Clams, Pismo Clams, Littleneck Clams, Chiones, Razor Clams, Mussels, and more. Catching clams also requires special provisions that we must abide by. Recommended places are Tomales Bay State Park, Bodega Bay, Elkhorn Slough, and Dillon Beach
The San Francisco Bay Area has a large number of vast beaches and wharfs, rich in seafood, which will be able to meet the needs of the majority of fishing enthusiasts. Even if you’re not a fishing expert, I highly encourage you experience fishing.
FishBarb.com,以获得信息。
湾区抓鲍鱼的好去处有Glass Beach,Stillwater Cove Regional Park,Salt Point State Park等地方。
推荐的地点有Tomales Bay State Park, Bodega Bay, Elkhorn Slough, Dillon Beach等地。
