On Aug. 9, 2015, the non-profit student-led organization Help Everyone and Remember to Share (HEARTS) hosted a fundraiser named Succeed and Help Succeed in Sunnyvale, California. During this fundraiser, which was attended by parents and students alike, thousands of dollars were raised for food banks and underprivileged children in China.
The HEARTS organization is made up of six local chapters and totals around 60 members. It was founded seven years ago by the three siblings of the Zeng family, and hosts many community service events and fundraisers. Included in these is the yearly China trip, in which a group of HEARTS volunteers travel to China during the summer to visit schools and children with special needs to provide them with money for education obtained through fundraisers.
Recently, HEARTS has been involved in conducting a nationwide student health and wellness survey, offering classes to underprivileged children, and volunteering at the community center. At the Succeed and Help Succeed fundraiser, awards like the Presidential Service Award were given out to notable members who volunteered certain amounts of hours.
I didn’t know that you guys started it I thought Mrs. Zeng was a high ranking officer.
