Art is always a class I look forward to during the school day. This class is filled with different exciting projects for students to work on. It allows students to unleash their creative ideas, and to be unique within their own works of art. Our teacher believes that art is where students can incorporate their own personality and visions into their creation.
Another reason why art is very enjoyable is because it is generally a stress-free class. The environment is very light and fun, where students can work at their own pace, and socialize with other classmates. Unlike most core classes, art is a curriculum where students are not rushed, and are able to fully comprehend the skills and material at their own rate. The atmosphere in art class is positive and supportive, where students mostly learn hands-on. Art is a course where I always come out feeling energized, enthusiastic, and looking forward to the next time.
I highly recommend students to take an art course sometime in their high school years, for it has many benefits. Along with it being a nice, relaxing period for students to escape from the high-tension school day, it is also a practical skill to have. Art teaches students how to, and be able to use their observation, and sense of sight. Like my teacher always says, “Draw what you see, not what you think you see.” This teaches students to make logical decisions, and not decisions based on what they assume is right. The basic skills of art may also be helpful in future careers, such as architecture or engineering.
In conclusion, I suggest students try out an art course sometime before their high school years end. It is an enjoyable, stress-free class, where students are encouraged to use their creativity. It is also a beneficial skill to have, if one wanted to pursue the arts, or even other careers. I look forward to continue learning and discover what more art has to offer.
